Services
Our quantity surveying services is a multi-stage process carefully tailored for both clients and builders. We want each stage to act as a checkpoint for the evental completion of a job and keep both client and builders aware of the process at all times.
For Clients
Budget Estimates
For clients wishing to establish the approximate cost of a proposed development we will prepare an approximate cost based on an Architects’ preliminary drawings.
If the cost exceeds the clients available budget, we can make proposals to reduce the cost before proceeding to tender.
Bills of Quantities
We will produce a bill of quantities which can be sent to Builders so that they can submit a tender based on the same quantities and specification. We will then make a recommendation for the most suitable builder for your project.
Site Meetings
We will attend site meetings when requested and contribute to discussions on financial or related matters.
Recommendations
We will carry out periodic site visits and assess the amount of work complete and due for payment to the builder on an agreed scale. We will then forward this to the architect who, if satisfied with the work, will send a certificate to the client to issue payment.
Variations to the Contract
We will make assessments of any variations to the contract claimed by the house contractor. We will agree the cost of such variations and include the value in the following recommendations.
Final Account
We will assess and agree the final account submitted by the contractor and issue a final recommendation based on that agreement.
Disputes
We will offer our Professional opinion and support should a dispute arise in the course of the contract
For Builders
Builders Tenders
We will produce a rated bill of quantities from architects’ drawings to allow a builder submit a competitive tender bid.
Alternatively, we complete a competitively rated bill of quantities received for tendering.
Site Meetings
We will attend site meetings when requested and contribute to discussions on financial or related matters.
Valuations
We will carry out periodic site visits and assess the amount of work complete and due for payment. We will forward a valuation of the completed work to the client or his representative for payment due.
Variations to the Contract
We will make assessments of any variations to the contract and agree the cost of such variations and include the value in the following valuation.
Final Account
We will compile and agree a final account with the employer or his representative.
Disputes
We will offer our professional opinion and support should a dispute arise in the course of the contract and issue a claim for additional costs if appropriate.
